A heart containing a 2mm ruby-colored CZ rests in the approximate location of Raleigh, the state capital.
The pendant is suspended by two 10″ lengths of sterling silver chain attached at either end of the state’s northern border, making the total length of the necklace approximately 22″.
“Fine silver” is a jeweler’s term meaning silver that is 99.9% pure. “Sterling silver” refers to an alloy of 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper for strength. “CZ” is shorthand for “Cubic Zirconia,” in this case a lab-created gemstone that can withstand thousands of degrees of heat.
